CASPER SENIOR CENTER ANNOUNCES "SENIOR-WISE" SCHEDULE

A new informational program makes its debut next Tuesday, September 30, at the Casper Senior Center. According to Wayne Clements, executive director, "Senior-Wise" will provide important information to seniors from guest speakers throughout the Casper area. The programs will be held Tuesday afternoon beginning at 12:30 at the Senior Center and are free and open to the public. "We're excited about this new series," said Clements. "We've designed these programs to provide information that's especially valuable to seniors as we prepare for colder weather and the holidays."
The initial guest this coming Tuesday will be Lt. Terry Vincent of the Wyoming Highway Patrol. He'll advise seniors on preparing their car for winter weather, winter driving safety tips, and information on the new 80 mph highway speed limit. Time will be provided after his presentation for questions and comments. Future Senior-Wise topics include November general election ballot issues (with information provided by the League of Women Voters), healthy eating during the holidays (with nutritionist Karla Case of the Natrona County Extension office), and consumer fraud protection (provided by Sgt. Joe Nickerson of the Casper Police Department). A list of future programs is provided on the second sheet of this notice.
"If you're a senior and you've never been to the Senior Center for lunch we'd love to have you as our guest and introduce you to all our great services," added Clements. "We believe this new Senior-Wise series will be a wonderful addition. We're very proud of our facility and our staff and we're always happy to provide tours for those who stop by."
The Casper Senior Center, located at 1831 East 4th Street in Casper, and organized in 1976, serves approximately 1,000 meals each week.
